Milestone

This is Leslie, but I am too lazy to sign out of Brett's account and sign in under my own. Phoebe reached a milestone last night--her cord stump fell off. She got to take her first real bath today--which I forgot to take pictures of. She did well with the bath, though. Only a few seconds of fussing and she smelled so nice afterwards. I will include a picture of her sleeping because I think she looks so beautiful.

Phoebe wonders who I am and why I don't have any milk.

Phoebe is a latent Trekkie. Here is what her future holds.

"I'm strong to the finich cause I eats me spinach," says Phoebe.

New swing

Yesterday I put together Phoebe's automatic swing. Wow! Phoebe's face starts to peel off from the G force. This thing is fast. Here is a picture of and info on the swing. I am a bit worried her brain is smashing against her skull. Try to test it on Henry, but he freaked out once I tried to strap him into the chair.

We'll have try to get a picture of her in the swing and post it.

Here is Phoebe enjoying her new glider. Look at the dangers here for SIDS. Luckily she is only posing for a picture under vigilant watch. She is safe. 

After a lot of struggle looking for a nipple to get some milk, Phoebe discovers her thumb is not bad at all. She is sucking away at her thumb and is quite happy about it. 

"Out of the 'Danger Zone,'" says the doctor. Phoebe is negative 4 weeks old today. The doctor says her jaundice is looking better. Phoebe weighed in today at 5 lbs. And her temperature is stabalized between 98 and 99, which is very good. 

Here is another picture of Phoebe after eating. Don't let the picture fool you; Leslie is fully clothed and is not feeding. Phoebe just has her hands covering her mouth.

Phoebe came home. Here she is after a healthy meal.

Minor setback. Phoebe was admitted to the hospital at 3:30 on Saturday because she was jaundice. Here she is in her incubator with her sun goggles on. 

Henry is checking out what is making all the noise. He is extremely interested in Phoebe. 

Phoebe getting some sleep in her own crib. She was never left unattended. We see all the SID dangers in the crib. 

Phoebe is about to be let free from the hospital. They kept us until about 3:30. It was horrible. But here she is wearing a premature outfit that is still way too big for her.

Big yawns for Phoebe.

I guess I was so tired here that I fell asleep reading Confederacy of the Dunces and holding Phoebe Rose.
