At the Ralph's World concert (her favorite band over the summer); at Lucas's birthday party held at the Oak Lawn rec center; and in the driveway on the tricycle she got from her cousin Camryn

Yummy stuff, and PRESENTS! She was so excited about opening a gift that she couldn't wait to put her pajamas on and she would barely allow me to dry her off with the towel--that's why her hair is so wet. She loved the stroller, and nearly four months later, it is still one of her favorite toys. The easel is also something she uses on a daily basis.

More birthday

so many fun activities in the back yard--bouncers, swimming, slides, and lots of friends. Grandma Shobe made the cake this year--it was delicious and themed around Phoebe's backyard pool party :).

Why'd we name her Phoebe?

Why'd we name him Beckett

I saw the name in a name book and called Brett to add it to the list. It grew on us and we liked it very much. We thought of associations we might have with the name, and all of them are positive. There is Samuel Beckett the playwright who writes about existential themes and ideas--something I really liked in college. And there is Beck Hansen, the talented and artistic musician who Brett and I like very much. Other than that, there is no meaning attached to his name, but it is a nice, strong sounding name and his initials are the same as his Daddy's (BRL).
