Milestones

Phoebe ate her first non-liquid meal on December 28. She did well with it. She doesn't seem extremely interested in it just yet, but I am guessing that just takes time. It was actually more traumatic for Brett as it marked the beginning of a new phase. He was weary of offering her food because it's such a big step for her and he doesn't want her to grow up too quickly. :) I promised him I would ease into it slowly and not make it a routine yet. This first feeding did not, however, have the effect on her sleeping that I was hoping for. She isn't a terrible sleeper (in fact she sleeps a lot) but she doesn't sleep straight through the night. She wakes up at least twice most nights and sometimes more. Another big step for her this week occurred when she rolled over three times from her tummy to her back. I wanted to be sure this wasn't some kind of fluke when she did it the first time, so I immediately placed her back on her stomach and watched her do it again and then once again. However, she has not accomplished the feat since. Each day I have encouraged her to try again by placing her on her stomach, but she seems to ge stuck because she forgets to tuck her one arm under her. We'll keep working on it. She had a great Christmas so far (it isn't over yet because she will be celebrating Christmas with Aunt Terra and Uncle Traveling Matt on January 14 when they are in for a visit) I won't recap all of her gifts because most people aren't that interested, but in general, she got a few great toys including an animated rocking horse that Henry is afraid of, some adorable bedding, and of course some cute clothes! Thanks to everyone who made Phoebe's first Christmas special.
