It's been a while
So, as promised earlier, I am sharing Brett's faculty talent show experience. I have included a video clip of part of the first song that they played which features Brett on guitar. They went on to play three or four more songs with vocals and a few more instruments. The faculty talent show was pretty good--good enough to rival the student talent show at Lake Central--something to think about, LC. :)Since Brett's band was the first act of the night, Phoebe got to go to the show and we left early--she really enjoyed it, though. She watched very intently and stood on her grandma's lap so that she could see everything. She is such a good baby!!! These days she is generally happy and on a pretty consistent schedule. She eats solid foods--this morning it was green beans and pears, and that is probably what she will have again for dinner since we are trying to do the same foods for a few meals at a time to monitor her reaction. She is still wearing many of her 3-6 month outfits, but is also into her 6 month outfits as well--even one or two 6-9 month items. She is still smaller than her peers, but healthy. At her last check-up on the 18th, she weighed 12 lbs. 8 oz. (a 1 lb. gain from her last visit), she was 24.5 inches long (1 inch growth), and had a 17 inch head (1/2 inch growth). She is only in the 5th percentile for weight in comparison to her peers, but the Dr. says she isn't in any danger because she looks very healthy--not skinny or malnourished (As if!!) She had a really busy month since Christmas--her cousin Sydney was here with Aunt Terra and Uncle Matt and his girlfriend Katie came, too. There were so many people around her for almost two weeks straight and we were busy everyday. She and Sydney got pictures done professionally at Sears Photo and they were fantastic. I will try to include a couple of the pictures here. I only have the one of Phoebe so far. As soon as the others get scanned, I will be able to post them. I thought having a one year old and a 6 month old at a photo shoot would be terribly difficult, but it wasn't at all. The girls cooperated beautifully. They both smiled and stayed in place long enough for each picture and the whole thing took about 15-20 minutes tops. It was great! Phoebe babbles all day long now. She has taken a liking to her toes and feet. She tries to sit up when I put her in a sitting position, but it doesn't last more than a few seconds. Still not a physically ambitious child. :) This weekend we will be celebrating Brett's 30th birthday (he will be 30 on the 30th), so that will be the culmination of our busy season. Then we can go back to fairly regular days and take time to visit people again. I have started taking a grad class at Northeastern University in American literature. So far, I am enjoying it a lot.
