Here's the cake that no one ate--it was pretty, and we got it for free from Dominicks. Don't worry, it didn't go to waste; Brett and I proceded to eat it until it was gone in a few days. I must say, it was pretty good.

Why'd we name her Phoebe?

Why'd we name him Beckett

I saw the name in a name book and called Brett to add it to the list. It grew on us and we liked it very much. We thought of associations we might have with the name, and all of them are positive. There is Samuel Beckett the playwright who writes about existential themes and ideas--something I really liked in college. And there is Beck Hansen, the talented and artistic musician who Brett and I like very much. Other than that, there is no meaning attached to his name, but it is a nice, strong sounding name and his initials are the same as his Daddy's (BRL).
